Does it work? Well, does it?

If you think this is a farce, think again. Using hydrogen as an alternative fuel source is not a new concept. The technology for turning water into a gas that can be used in a vehicle has been around for several years. Some say back as far as the late 70’s.

Today however, as necessity is the mother of invention, the focus on making this a mainstream reality has narrowed to an aggressive focus. In the last two quarters of 2008, there has been a surge of scientific information on exactly how to apply this technology in the real world of the regular person who is trying to survive the sky rocketing cost of fuel. Recently, there have been a number of excellent and informative conversion guides released into the market. With little or no technical skill required, it is now possible to utilize the technology by using a worthy guide.

How does it work? With this hydrogen gas technology, the idea is, to replace some of the normal consumption of regular petroleum gas, with hydrogen. Gaseous hydrogen burns readily and the consensus is that there is a notable increase in power. The basis for less fuel consumption is that the power from the hydrogen gas would cause the engine to back off on burning so much gasoline, thereby handsomely increasing gas mileage up to 40-60%.

The hydrogen generator works on an age old process called electrolysis. Electrolysis is the conversion of water into its basic components - hydrogen and oxygen. This is done by sending electricity through specially designed pieces of metal suspended in water. The tension caused by the electricity causes the molecules to separate. The result is the production of pure oxygen and hydrogen. Gas bubbles then rise into a collection container. From there the gas vapors travel through a tube that goes to where the car can suck in this hydrogen before it is directed into the engine.

I know this must sound pretty complicated, but if you saw some of the common household materials that are used to give some of these generators life, it would make you think, really think about our government.
